Happy New Year!!!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!!
I hope everyone had a fantastic time ringing in the New Year. Here's to all the wonderful and awesome memories we made in 2009 and to all the new memories we are going to make in 2010. Like Brad Paisley tweeted, "Tomorrow, is the first blank page of a 365 page book. Write a good one." I know I'm going to focus on writing a good one. I'm thinking that 2010 is going to be a time for reinvention.

I have a lot of things planned for this blog for 2010. I have some ideas for making it more interactive and a lot of fun. So keep checking back for some new stuff. And don't forget to follow Chris Young Fans on Twitter(@chrisyoungfans) as well as Chris himself(@chrisyoungmusic).

Good night to all of you and let's start 2010 off with a bang.

Chris Review

One of the @chrisyoungfans followers on Twitter got to see Chris for the first time recently when he played a show in Michigan with Jimmy Wayne. Janna was awesome enough to email a review and a few pictures from the show.

Driving down the road, I heard WITL Lansing Radio was having Chris Young for a Christmas party, along with Jimmy Wayne! FOR FREE. I immediately got in line for a pair of tickets.

I had to go out and buy Chris' album. The only song I heard at that point was Gettin' You Home.. I melted when I saw the video and when I heard it on radio!

Long story short, I waited in line from 2pm until 7pm in the 20degree weather! WORTH EVERY MINUTE! We were front row, Chris being about 5feet from me. Man, is he TALL!!

He was very engaging - using those eyes of his to win the crowd, which didn't take long.

After the show, he was just hanging around the Whiskey Barrel Saloon chatting and drinking it up (lightly, I may add) with whoever was there. He was in a black baseball cap, backwards, just hanging out! NO management, nothing! I didnt want to be a bother and tap him on the shoulder, but soo glad I did!

I apologized to him about getting his attention and said "Do you just hate this?" and his response was "Hate what? No - I love it!!". I told him I had watched his video loong before radio played his song and he explained how to get the radio stations to play music.. "They have all the same stuff that CMT has (videos vs music) you just have to ask them to play it". He was really kind and looked into my eyes as we chatted. I could have forgotten that he was such an up and coming star, because of his laid back and engaging personality! I have heard the album a dozen times since then, and can picture his face singing every song.

If someone hasn't had the chance to see him, DO IT. Made me a fan, instantly!

I agree with Janna. If you haven't had the pleasure of seeing Chris in concert yet, GO. You can find out if he'll be near you at his website, www.chrisyoungcountry.com. And while you're there, join his official message board and the Street Team too. It's free!

Chris' new video for "The Man I Want To Be"

Chris' new single is "The Man I Want To Be." It's a beautiful song about redemption and asking God to help change you into the person that you want to be. Chris does an awesome job in the video. I love the concept.

Chris sings "O Holy Night" for GAC

Thanks to Vicky for sending me the link to Chris singing "O Holy Night." Now, I normally don't like listening to people try to sing this song. Because some people can really mess it up so I admit, I was a little skeptical before playing the video to watch Chris sing it. But, he did an amazing job. It's really beautiful.

CMT has up an awesome article about Chris celebrating his number 1 hit, "Gettin' You Home." Go here to read the article and see the pictures from the party.

CountryMusicCares is doing something awesome. They have a Christmas Kids charity that they do to help give kids gifts for Christmas. You can find out more about it at www.countrymusiccares.net. Whitney Duncan Fans(@whitduncanfans) started a "10 until 10" where they are going to donate $0.10 for every new follower that they get to Christmas Kids from now until December 10th. A bunch of Fan Tweets have jumped in to participate. Now, I unfortunately cannot participate for financial reasons but I would like to encourage everyone to go to www.countrymusiccares.net and look at the list of people involved and follow all of them. And if you run a fan tweet, maybe you can participate!

Lets go back in time a few months...to CMA Fest 2009

I saw Chris Young back in Nashville during CMA Fest in June. That first day he had a Black Dress party and he let the fans call out what they wanted to hear. He said this party was for them. Well, a few fans said they wanted him to sing the Cowboy song. Now I had never heard it before and Chris started saying how he was bored on the bus one day and wrote this song and then palyed one night. After singing the song he laughed and went, "I never should've written this song." But it's an awesome song and if you watch you will see why.

Want to know what Chris wants for Christmas?

Chris took to his twitter to tell fans what he wanted for Christmas. That's a cool truck. I think I want one too. And he looks good in it. Don't you agree?

KJUG/Visalia, CA helped Chris celebrate his first #1

Adam Jeffries (r) surprises Chris Young with a cake commemorating his No. 1 "Gettin' You Home (The Black Dress)" song at the station's Signature Series Concert.

By now everyone knows that "Gettin' You Home" is Chris' first number one song. At a show in California, a local radio station helped Chris celebrate his number one hit with a cake. Thank you to those that forwarded me this picture found in their Country Aircheck email update.

GAC Special

Chris Young tweeted this picture of him, Nan and Craig Morgan from when they were in Iraq entertaining the troops recently. GAC will air a special on December 10th. Be sure to tune in to see Chris and Craig.

Chris has released his new single!

The follow-up single to Chris Young's #1 hit, 'Gettin' You Home' is the title track to his second album, "The Man I Want To Be." This song almost didn't get cut as Chris said when it was brought to him, he almost didn't listen to it because he felt there were already too many ballads on the album. But as soon as he heard it he knew he had to cut it and made it the title of the cd.

God, I'm down here on my knees
Cause it's the last place left to fall
Beggin' for another chance
If there's any chance at all
That you might still be listenin'
Lovin' and forgivin' guys like me
I've spent my whole life gettin' it all wrong
And I sure could use your help cause from now on

It's a very reflective song and one of my personal favorites. I really think this will be Chris' 2nd number one hit. He's already filmed the video for it and I'm sure it'll be just as amazing as 'Gettin' You Home.' So please go support Chris by requesting "The Man I Want To Be" at your local radio stations.
